Jamaican dancehall icon Vybz Kartel, born Adidja Palmer, has opened up about forgiving his wife, Tanesha Johnson, for her alleged infidelity during his 13-year incarceration.
Speaking on episode 443 of the Drink Champs podcast, Kartel revealed that he learned about Tanesha’s unfaithfulness from his other baby mother while he was behind bars—a revelation that left him in tears.
Despite the heartbreak, the "Fever" hitmaker chose understanding over resentment, acknowledging that she remained loyal for years before finally giving in to temptation.
"I still respect her because I understand she’s human," Kartel shared. "I forgave her immediately because I get it, but I just had to move on."
He also highlighted Tanesha’s unwavering support throughout his imprisonment, stating:
"She was there through it all, but come on, I was locked up for 13 years—what do you expect? Save the psy?"**
Tanesha Johnson, widely recognized as Kartel’s longtime partner and the mother of his children, remained a steadfast figure in his life even while he was imprisoned.
Vybz Kartel was released in August 2024 after serving time on murder charges—one of which led to his conviction.
