The Grammy-winning Motown artist Bonnie Pointer who was originally part of the popular quartet group of sisters in the ’70s has died on Monday morning at the age of 69.

this was made known by her sister, Anita, saying, “It is with great sadness that I have to announce to the fans of The Pointer Sisters that my sister, Bonnie died this morning. Our family is devastated, on behalf of my siblings and I and the entire Pointer family, we ask for your prayers at this time.”

Anita continues, “Bonnie was my best friend and we talked every day, we never had a fight in our life, I already miss her and I will see her again one day.”

It will be recalled that Bonnie was one of the OG Pointer Sisters which started out as a duo, with her as one of the leads — but eventually left the group in the mid-1970s to pursue a successful solo career. She’s best known for her cover of “Heaven Must Have Sent You.

It was indeed an interesting and entertaining 99days since the famous TV reality show big brother naija commenced with 21 housemates initially starting the show and five more housemates mates joining them along the line making them total of 26 housemates to participate in the show gunning for the 60million naira grand price. Following due process, so many of the housemates were evicted for one reason or another and one disqualified following the rules of the house and only five housemates made it to the finals. The five housemates that made it to the grand finale were Mercy, Mike, Frodd, Omashola and Seyi the grand son of Awolowo.

The grand finale which took place today saw the winners announced according to how the viewers voted for them.

Lets take a look at how the last five fared.

At number 5 we have Seyi who had the least vote amongst the last five first evicted, followed by Omashola who had the less vote in the remaining four. We have Frodd as our second runner up leaving us with Mike and Mercy of which Mercy finally emerged the winner having polled the highest vote and Mike the first runner up. So as it stands, Mercy is the grand winner of the 2019 Bbnaija. Once again congratulations to u Mercy.
