Spotify a US based streaming platform was currently slammed by Nicki Minaj, following the drop of her album from number one to two, with Travis Scott taking her place.

Nicki Minaj just dropped her new album titled Queen and the album has been enjoying good sales and online streams on Apple, Tidal and other streaming platform.

The young money rapper took to Twitter to call out Spotify after she claimed they intentionally dropped her from the top spot and replaced her with Travis Scott, to teach her a lesson as they have initially claimed they'll do. Nicki wrote

" Spotify had to teach me a lesson and rewarded a man who has had an Apple radio show the longest, inadvertently helping the Apple platform the most. Oh, I can't wait for Queen radio on Tuesday. They took away my promotion they had promised for the first cpl days b/c of this "

Nicki also went further to clarify how her label is scared to defend her because of the fear of what they'll do to Ariana Grande who just released her album days after Nicki's. Although many Twitter users thought Nicki was only ranting and looking for an excuse for why her album isn't selling like she would have wanted.

In response to Nicki's allegations, Spotify in a statement to Variety today (Aug. 21), a Spotify representative defended the platform’s promotion of the project and claimed no ill will toward the “Chun-Li” rapper. “Spotify supported Nicki Minaj with a Times Square billboard, a host of the largest playlists, New Music Friday and the new music release shelf,” the rep said. “Her song ‘Bed’ actually saw an increase based on the promotions put behind the campaign. The company continues to be big fans of Nicki.”
