According to the three (3) police officers murdered on 6th August, the police has now announced the names of the effected Police officers who were killed by the Nigerian soldiers while on duty.



The names of the police officers was announced on Thursday.

They were fatally shot by soldiers and praised their record of courageous service to the nation.

The police spokesperson, Frank Mba, named the officers as:

Mark Ediale (an inspector from Edo State)

Usman Danzumi and Dahiru Musa (both sergeants) from Taraba State.

They were all of the celebrated Intelligence Response Team (IRT).

The raised the case on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 that the three officers that was murdered.

The inspector, two sergeants, and a civilian.

They were shot to death during a confrontation with the soldiers along Ibi-Jalingo Road in Taraba State on Tuesday, August 6 while carrying a suspected kidnaper kingpin in a police bus on Tuesday evening.

So many other police officers were injured in the gunfire and it was led by Superintendent police team.

Assistant police officer, were also injured in the gunfire.

The gallant, outstanding IRT team attacked by soldiers in Taraba State consists of some of the most disciplined, proficient and hardworking police investigators in the service of the Nation.

Until their untimely death in the hands of soldiers of 93 Battalion Takum, Taraba State, all these effected Police officers have participated in so many high profile and high risk arrests, and they have also gone on a rescue missions and investigative operations,

Police said: The effected Police officers took part in the arrest of Nigerias most famous kidnap suspect, Evans.

They also participated in the arrest of 22 Boko Haram suspects in kidnapping of the Chibok School Girls in Borno State in the year 2014.

The Force described the team of the effected Police officers as one of the "most highly trained IRT teams" in the country.
