The Confederation Of African Football (CAF) has today confirmed Egypt will host the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.



It should be noted that Egypt beat South Africa, the only other country to bid for the tournament.

Some weeks ago, CAF stripped Cameroon of  her hosting rights in November because of slow preparations.

Tuesday's announcement took place in the Senegalese capital Dakar, which will also host Caf's annual awards ceremony later in the day.

In the decisive election,AF Egypt received 16 votes to South Africa's one, Caf confirmed in a press conference.

Egypt, which will host the tournament for a fifth time and has just six months to prepare for the expanded 24-team finals, which kick off in June.
