FC Barcelona and Hebei China Fortune have reached an agreement for the incorporation of player Javier Mascherano to the Chinese club as of January 26.

Mascherano leaves FC Barcelona after seven and a half seasons.

The defender is expected to pocket 19 million euro for his two season deal in China where he joins up with fellow country man Manuel Pellegrini currently manning the Hebei bench.

The player has been given limited playing time this season under Ernesto Valverde and with his strong desire to represent Argentine at next summer's World Cup has decided to "pursue his own happiness".

Barcelona remove another high wage bill from their outgoings with Mascherano reported to earn 5.5 million euro per year at the club.
