It was an exit of an icon yesterday as the American Singer, Anthony Dominick Benedetto, popularly known as Tony Bennett was confirmed dead.



He died on Friday at the age of 96 in New York, according to The Associated Press.

Tony, whose cause of death was not stated, was among America’s last crooners in a career that spanned seven decades.

He has amassed many accolades throughout his career, including 20 Grammy Awards, a Lifetime Achievement Award, and two Primetime Emmy Awards.
