Veteran Nollywood actor, Alexx Ekubo, has received a heavy backlash following his comment on colleague Ebube Nwagbo’s throwback photo with Argentina football player, Lionel Messi.

Moments ago, the actress made a post praising Messi days after his World Cup victory over France.

She hailed him, calling him the “goat," alongside a photo of herself with Messi in a boutique.

Reacting, Alex Ekubo commented:

“No be to post picture wey dem beg snap. WhatsApp him to congratulate him and say, "MeeMee congrats, boo." Na dat one go pain me die.”

His comment, however, received a lot of backlash from fans who found it offensive.
