The popular American rapper Lawrence Franks popularly known as Huey is dead.

Heuy who is best known for his classic single “Pop Lock & Drop It”, was shot and killed on Thursday night. He was 31-years-old and left a 13 year old daughter behind.

The incident occurred just before 11:00 p.m. in front of a home in the 8100 block of Martin Luther King Boulevard near Mable Avenue in his hometown of Kinloch.

According to police, Huey arrived at a local hospital suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.

Police said another victim from the scene of the shooting came to the Ferguson Police Department with a gunshot wound. He was taken to an area hospital and treated for his injuries. He is expected to survive.

He made his debut in 2007.
