The veteran actor revealed that it was only by God' s grace that he survived the tough days in the hospital. He also mentioned that the governor of his state visited him during his treatment.

Kunle Afod used the opportunity to call on the public, particularly the youth, to support elderly actors. In his words, "Don' t forget the elderly. Many of us will grow old too. Let' s do what we can to support those in need." Afod raised funds for Asa Koko during his illness and hailed him for his contributions to Nollywood while sharing this touching final moment.
