Popular Nigerian comedian Basketmouth has finally addressed those urging him to comment on the ongoing marital crisis between legendary singer 2Face and his wife, Annie Idibia.

The controversy erupted after 2Face publicly announced their separation on Sunday, sparking widespread reactions on social media, especially among celebrities. However, Basketmouth has made it clear that he wants no part in the discussion.

In a viral video shared on his Instagram page, the comedian explained why he has remained silent despite knowing 2Face for 27 years and Annie for 24 years.

“I have been receiving countless messages and emails asking why I haven’t spoken about 2Face and Annie’s issue. The truth is, I’m not in any position to get involved. I don’t want to say something that will make people start dragging me or reminding me of my own past,” he said, referencing his 2022 divorce.

Basketmouth further emphasized that he is focused on making 2025 a peaceful and "undraggable" year.

“Please, don’t push me,” he humorously added.

With the internet buzzing over the 2Face and Annie saga, Basketmouth’s decision to steer clear reflects his desire to avoid unnecessary controversy in the new year.
