On Thursday, August 4, the Brooklyn, New York, native took to Instagram to hype up fans for the eagerly anticipated release.
Shmurda's post featured an animated rendition of the album's cover art, which features a giant gorilla destroying Times Square while music is playing in the background.
He captioned his post, "BodBoyyy the Ep tonight at 12 my 1st project since 2014 9 songs long. I'm excited."
The EP will serve as the lead-in to Bobby's upcoming debut studio album, Ready To Live, which was planned to arrive this summer.
In a press release last month, the "Shmoney" rapper announced BodBoy and the debut of his own label, GS9 Records, which he co-founded with ONErpm. The lead single, “Hoochie Daddy,” was released on July 22.
Bobby Shmurda’s first solo project since his 2014 debut EP, Shmurda She Wrote, which debuted at No. 79 on the Billboard 200 chart and contained the hit singles “Hot N-gga” and “Bobby Bitch.”
The wait for new material has left some fans frustrated, with some criticizing the rapper for taking his time following his release from a six-year prison sentence in February 2021.
