David Adeleke, better known by his stage name Davido, took a break in the middle of his performance at the Afronation Fest in Detroit, Michigan, on Sunday to pay tribute to Mrs.

Davido acknowledged that he was no stranger to grief and emphasized how many loved ones he had lost, including his mother, Mrs. Veronica Adekunle, who passed away many years prior.

However, he claimed that prior to her passing, Wizkid's musical accomplishments made his mother happy.

Addressing the crowd, Davido said, “Personally, I have lost so many people in my life. And I want to send condolences to my brother, Ayo Balogun Wizkid. To his mother, may her soul rest in peace.

“I lost my mother myself years ago. But I know whatever he [Wizkid] has done, he has made his mother proud.”
