Nigerian highlife sensation Chinedu Okoli, widely known as Flavour, is mourning the loss of his father, Elder Onyemaechi Okoli.



The sad news was shared by Flavour on his X account (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, May 22, 2023.

Flavour, affectionately referred to as the ‘Ijele’ crooner, expressed his grief in a heartfelt message written in Igbo: “My father, Ijele’s (his nickname) father, rest well. God gave and God has taken.”

As news of Elder Okoli’s passing spread, fans and fellow musicians have flooded Flavour’s comment section with condolences and messages of support.

The Okoli family has not yet disclosed the funeral arrangements for the late Elder Onyemaechi Okoli.
