Nigerian singer and actor, Idowu Adeyemi also known as Yhemo Lee has recollected how he helped Afrobeats sensation, Asake to meet Olamide.
The nightlife promoter said he and the ‘Joha’ crooner have been friends for about 13 years and when Olamide signed him it was an unbelievable moment.
Yhemo Lee stated this during an interview with media personality, Chude Jideonwo while narrating how he pleaded with the YBNL boss to give Asake a chance.
He said that he recorded a song which featured DanDizzy and YKB, so when Baddo heard the track, he liked it and reached out.
According to him, Olamide first asked for DanDizzy’s contact, saying that he wants them to collaborate and it was in the middle of their online conversation that he advocated for Asake.
Yhemo Lee said he was only hoping for the ‘Shakiti Bobo’ hit maker to bless Asake with a verse and not expecting a record deal.
He said that after a few chats, Olamide asked him to send an audio file of Omo Ope and he recorded on it without delay, afterwhich he sent it back to Yhemo.
He said Olamide started talking about promotion and about two days later, he revealed that he was interested in signig Asake to YBNL.
The promoter said he went straight to Olamide’s house where the contract was ready and waiting for them. Yhemo Lee added that it was that same day Asake signed the documents.
