Ace Nollywood actor Yinka Quadri has opened up about the emotional toll false rumors of his death had on his family.
In June, a viral report claiming Quadri had passed away caused widespread concern among fans and loved ones. The 65-year-old actor swiftly debunked the rumor via Instagram, assuring everyone he was "alive and well."
However, in a recent interview on Oyinmomo TV, Quadri expressed deep disappointment with those responsible for spreading the false news.
"When I saw the news, I said, 'Well done, you content creators.' No one would be happy hearing death rumors about themselves. I leave the person behind this to God’s judgment," he remarked, emphasizing that such actions bring unnecessary sadness to families.
Quadri revealed that the incident significantly distressed his family, especially his children living abroad.
"Even though I stay in constant touch with my children every three days, they were shocked. They said, 'I just spoke to Daddy last week.' But as the rumors spread, they started calling morning, afternoon, and night just to confirm I was okay."
The veteran actor criticized those who exploit falsehoods for attention and urged individuals to prioritize compassion over cheap content.
This incident highlights the importance of responsible content creation and its impact on public figures and their loved ones. Fans and well-wishers continue to rally around Yinka Quadri, celebrating his resilience and contributions to Nollywood.
