Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has revealed that she shares a deep and unique bond with her mother.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with ET on the sidelines of the 67th Grammy Awards in Los Angeles, the Mr.. Rebel crooner shared that everything she has belongs to her mom.
“What I have is hers. We share everything I have,” Tems said, emphasizing their close relationship.
Reflecting on her Grammy win, she expressed gratitude, saying, “I’m grateful to God. I’m thankful. I think it’s a blessing. I’m extremely blessed and favored. I just want to give that out in any way that I can.”
Tems made history at the 2024 Grammy Awards as her song “Love Me Jeje” won Best African Music Performance. While accepting the award on stage, she dedicated the win to her mother, who singlehandedly raised her and her brother.
