David Adeleke, better known by his stage name Davido, has stirred a social media debate after winning a key award in his career.
The award-winning vocalist was included in the official music for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar along with American R&B singer Trinidad Cardona and American singer Aisha, a feat that many would consider monumental.
Davido shared the news on Twitter, writing, "Who dey wamba, we are still qualified las las." Despite the fact that he is the only Nigerian artist in the competition, some netizens pointed out that his colleagues in the music industry did not congratulate him.
In an apparent response to this, Davido sent a cryptic message on Twitter, implying that he is in rivalry with others in the industry.
He tweeted, "Me vs. the Industry. I love it."
His remark has caused a heated debate online, with some users criticizing his coworkers for never complimenting him on his achievements.
A Twitter user wrote, “When other artistes achieve big things their colleagues congratulate them,when davido achieves big things only his fans and gang congratulate him,God is bigger than them sha .”
