Popular media personality and content creator, GehGeh, has stirred conversations online with his bold views on modern relationships and marriage.
Speaking on a recent episode of The Honest Bunch podcast, GehGeh claimed that many Nigerian women today see relationships as a form of employment, where partners are expected to foot their bills.
The Urhobo-born media figure went further to suggest that men reconsider marriage, alleging it has become a strategy for women to exploit men's resources. He reflected on how relationships and marriages operated in past generations, where women were more involved in providing for their families and supporting their husbands.
“My dad got married because, in his era, women worked for their men. The man was the king, handling authority and protection, while the women worked on farms and provided for the household. But is that the reality today?” GehGeh asked rhetorically.
He didn't hold back his critique of modern dating culture, specifically targeting Nigerian women. “I feel Nigerian women are the worst to date or marry because they date for money. They view relationships as a way to secure financial support. Personally, I’m not ready for that.”
GehGeh's remarks have sparked heated discussions on social media, with many agreeing, while others argue his perspective lacks nuance. What do you think about his take on modern relationships and marriage?
