Nollywood actor Lateef Adedimeji recently opened up about the meager earnings he received during the early days of his acting career, even for lead roles.

Speaking on the ‘Deep Dive’ podcast with comedian Teju Babyface, the 'Jagun Jagun' star shared his experience of being grossly underpaid.

In 2014, despite playing leading roles, Adedimeji revealed he was earning as little as N4,000 to N10,000 per role. It wasn't until 2015 that his pay saw a significant increase, reaching N100,000 to N200,000 per role.

Adedimeji reflected on this period as a "learning process," stating, “If I tell people that I wasn’t collecting N100,000, N200,000 until 2015/16, a lot of people would not believe me. Before then, the highest I collected for a lead role was either N4,000, N5,000, or N10,000.”

This candid revelation sheds light on the financial struggles many actors face in Nollywood, despite their significant contributions to the industry.
