Nigerian music sensation Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has been released from the custody of the Lagos State Police Command after a brief ordeal.
Portable's detention stemmed from allegations of non-payment for his luxury G-Wagon vehicle. The artist, known for hits like 'Zazzu,' faced accusations of failing to complete the payment for a Mercedes Benz GLE 350 purchased from Lagos-based car dealer Ogunsanwo Temitope (Temmy Autos).
Reports indicate that Portable initially paid N13 million for the vehicle, which was priced at N27 million, leaving a balance of N14 million unpaid. Despite negotiations, Portable allegedly refused to settle the remaining amount.
SP Benajmin Hundeyin, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed Portable's release to Vanguard, stating that he had been granted bail. However, details regarding the resolution of the payment issue remain undisclosed.
