Nigerian Afrobeats singer David Adeleke, aka Davido, has admitted that the successes of his colleagues such as D’banj, P-Square, and Wizkid inspired him to do music.

He stated this in a recent interview with Omega.

The Atlanta-born singer said he already knew Wizkid, Wande Coal, and D’banj before moving back to Nigeria.

He said, “I remember being in the club, the biggest artists then were P-Square, D’banj…Then Wizkid was really young, but he was coming up in the game.
“And I remember that moment; I was like, I want to do Nigerian music. I want to go on it early. I could already tell that it was going to be big.”

Davido said that because his dad is wealthy, he started off as a star, adding that many A-list artists already knew him before he blew up.
