Popular skit maker and singer Lawal Michael Nasiru Bolaji, aka Nasboi, has disclosed why he started his career by mimicking Davido.

Nasboi, who launched onto the Nigerian entertainment scene as “Low Budget OBO”, said he was mimicking the DMW boss to get his attention.

The comedian revealed this while appearing on the interview segment of MTV Base Naija Top 10 recently.

He said his intention was to get Davido’s attention and showcase his musical talent to him.

He said, “I started off mimicking Davido. So, the plan was to get David’s attention for my music. I disturbed this guy till he invited me one day and I started playing my music.”

On why he became a skit maker, Nasboi said, “It [my mimics of Davido] started looking like Cruise to everybody. So I said, Okay, let’s jump on it. That’s how I jumped on it, and it started looking like it demanded that I start making skits. So, I had no option but to make skits.”
