6 Dead, 15 Injured In Mogadishu's Attack
It was a sardonic Sunday in Mogadishu yesterday when a car bombing attack by the Al-Shabaab yesterday morning led to the death of at least six people and also got 15 other people wounded in the attack.
Report has it that, the attack was primarily targeted to local government offices in the capital city of Somalia.
The attack, led to the untimely dearth of three Somali soldiers among the six people that passed away in the attack.
Colonel Aden Dahir of the Somali military said the soldiers were killed while attempting to stop the speeding vehicle before it detonated around 9 a.m. local time, sending a powerful blast ripping through the government building and other nearby buildings, including a mosque.
Meanwhile, the terrorist group Al-Shabaab has claimed responsibility for the attack through its media channel, Andalus Radio.
Among the injured people is Abdisalam Hassan Abdi, a teacher at a nearby madrassa, who got wounded in the explosion and described the carnage and chaos in the area. "We heard a huge explosion as the students were in their morning class," he said. "The whole area was devastated by the car bomb."
However, the Somalia security personnel have take over the area and promised to suppress any subsequent attack in the area.
