According to reports, Beare allegedly invaded the Hoosen-Preston home in the early hours of Sunday morning and carried out a fatal knife attack. A viral video has since emerged in which Beare discusses his reasons for the attack. When asked why he allegedly killed an innocent person, he replied, "She is not totally innocent," claiming that Hoosen-Preston "and her family thought it was entertaining that my cousins were killed in Israel."

The case against Beare has been adjourned to June 11 for a mental assessment and bail consideration.
