Vin Diesel, renowned for his role in the "Fast & Furious" franchise, is facing serious allegations of sexual assault from a former assistant, Asta Jonasson.
The incident, as detailed in a lawsuit filed on December 21, 2023, reportedly occurred in a St. Regis hotel suite in 2010 during the production of "Fast Five."
In her legal complaint, Jonasson accuses Diesel of inappropriate behavior, including groping, forcibly kissing her, and engaging in inappropriate conduct in his Atlanta hotel room. The alleged incident took place within a week of Jonasson's employment by Diesel and his production company, One Race Productions.
Vanity Fair provided additional details from the lawsuit, describing a disturbing encounter in September 2010. Jonasson, waiting in Diesel's St. Regis hotel suite, claimed that Diesel forcibly pulled her onto the bed after other women had left the room. Despite her pleas to stop, Diesel allegedly escalated the situation, touching every part of her body, including her inner thighs.
Quoting from the lawsuit, Vanity Fair reported, "Diesel moved to pull down her underwear, Jonasson screamed and ran down the hallway toward the bathroom, where Diesel pinned her to the wall, placing her hand on his erect penis, even as she verbally refused. He masturbated, the suit alleges, while ‘terrified, Ms. Jonasson closed her eyes, trying to dissociate from the sexual assault and avoid angering him."
The lawsuit emphasizes Jonasson's fear of more aggressively refusing her boss due to concerns for her personal safety and job security. The alleged incident occurred shortly after she began working with Diesel and his production team.
These serious accusations against Vin Diesel highlight the importance of addressing and condemning any form of sexual assault. It is crucial to support survivors and ensure that their voices are heard as they seek justice. As the legal process unfolds, the entertainment industry and the public at large will be closely watching how these allegations are handled.
