it was a futile effort for some armed robbers on Wednesday who attacked a bullion van along the Akure/Owo Highway in Ondo State, shooting a policeman in the process.



The Public Relations Officer of Ondo State Police Command, DSP Funmi Odunlami, confirmed the attack, stating that it occurred close to Emure-Ile junction along the highway.

However, the robbers were unable to steal any funds as the bullion van was not carrying any cash when they struck, Odunlami added.

The injured policeman was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he is being treated at the moment.

A team of policemen has also been deployed to the area to apprehend the armed Robbers
