In a move to provide relief to Nigerians during the festive season, Africa's first privately-owned oil refinery has announced a significant reduction in the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS).

Effective immediately, Dangote Petroleum Refinery has lowered its petrol price to N899.50 per litre, a step down from the N970 per litre set on November 24.

This strategic price adjustment, according to a statement by the Group's Chief Branding and Communications Officer, Anthony Chiejina, aims to ease transport costs during the holiday period.

In addition to the price cut, the refinery introduced a unique offer to further benefit consumers. “For every litre of petrol purchased on a cash basis, consumers can buy an additional litre on credit. This offer is backed by a bank guarantee from Access Bank, First Bank, or Zenith Bank,” Chiejina explained.

The refinery’s initiative reflects its commitment to supporting Nigerians while ensuring access to premium quality petroleum products that meet global standards. Chiejina reaffirmed this dedication, stating, “Our operations signify the end of Nigeria being a dumping ground for substandard and blended imported products, which have posed risks to human health, machinery, and the environment.”

With an impressive capacity of 650,000 barrels per day (BPD), Dangote Refinery stands as the largest single-train refinery in the world. It is equipped to meet 100% of Nigeria’s refined petroleum product demand, with excess production available for export.

As the holiday season unfolds, this timely gesture underscores the refinery's gratitude to Nigerians for their unwavering support and its resolve to deliver products that are competitively priced, environmentally friendly, and engine-compatible.
