The governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, Magnus Abe, has complained of system malfunctions at his unit.
The former senator lamented that the Bimodal Voters Accreditation System (BVAS) did not work in his ward and unit.
At around 10:50, Abe left his Bera community home and announced that he would return to cast his ballot.
Less than five of the 16 BVAS that were sent to the 16 units in Bera, according to reports, were operational.
The Independent National Electoral Commission, or INEC, staff members have been informed, according to the SDP's presidential candidate.
“The BVAS machines are not opening. This is an effort to make Ogoni people not vote. But we must vote.
“When it opens, we will all come back." "IT personnel of INEC have been contacted,” Abe added.
