Sequel to the alleged mismanagement of the campaign fund during the last election, the Osun State chapter of the Labour Party (LP), on Tuesday suspended its chairman, Comrade Bello Adebayo for alleged mismanagement of N34 million meant to finance presidential election campaigns and other political activities in the state.

He was replaced with Mrs. Suzan Oluwayemi Ojo who has been mandated to run the affairs of the party in an acting capacity pending the election of a substantive chairman.

Announcing the suspension at a press conference in Osogbo yesterday, the chairman of ward 12, Osogbo Local Government area, Osogbo where the suspended chairman hails from, Hon. Hameed sheriff accused Bello of defrauding the party and also mismanaging its resources.

According to him, “having met the two third of ward level executives. Having found Bello Adebayo committed the categories of offences. We are to act according to the constitution of our party, Labour Party.”

They further alleged Adebayo Bello of anti party activities, absence from meetings which they claimed were unbecoming of the status of a state chairman. In her own acceptance speech,, the acting chairman promised to run the affairs of the party with due diligence and ensure that the party is firmly rooted in Osun State. She accused the suspended chairman of ignoring several calls on him to convey party stakeholders meeting where issues that would be of benefit to members and the party as an entity coul be discussed. In his reaction, the suspended chairman said his suspension cannot stand as ward 12 of Osogbo local government does not have a substantive executive committee to suspend him
