Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola who is the immediate past governor of Osun State and now the Minister of Interior has said yesterday that the presidential order to recruit 1000 people from the 774 local governments is being delayed by the continuous presence of the virus in the country.

The Minister made this known yesterday during the press briefing by the presidential task force on covid-19. He noted that the execercise ought to have commenced if not for the lockdown cause bycovid-19.

It will be recalled that President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered last week that 774,000 youths should be employed and their will engage in community service for 3 months from October-December 2020.

This was foresighted to avert the imminent economic hardship that might follow the pandemic.

Aregbesola said that the staff to conduct the recruitment have been forced to stay at home , stressing that no one could carry out such assignment at this critical time.
“ Our youths should be calm, believing that the President’ s order on the recruitment will be obeyed as soon as the lockdown over COVID -19 is over, ” he said .
