Tragedy struck in Ogwashi-Uku, Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State, as gunmen suspected to be cultists fatally shot Mr.

Bobby Kabah and his pregnant wife. The incident, which occurred on Wednesday night, unfolded amidst the backdrop of an ongoing cult war between rival groups within the community.

The news of the couple's untimely demise has sent shockwaves through the community, plunging it into mourning and confusion. According to reports gathered by PUNCH Metro, the assailants entered the couple's residence in Agidiasei quarters around 8:35 pm and indiscriminately opened fire, claiming the lives of both Mr. Kabah and his pregnant wife.

A community source, who preferred anonymity, revealed that Mr. Kabah, nursing an injury sustained from a recent motorbike accident, was spending time with his wife at home when the gunmen carried out the ruthless attack. The source lamented the senseless loss, stating, "The gunmen entered his home from the back, met him and his pregnant wife and opened fire, killing both of them instantly."

The incident adds to the grim toll of the ongoing cult violence in Ogwashi-Uku, which has seen six lives lost in the past two weeks alone. Confirming the tragic killings, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Bright Edafe, expressed the state's commitment to addressing the escalating violence. "Yes, it is confirmed. They are not husband and wife, but they were living together and killed in the same house," Edafe stated. "The Commissioner of Police has ordered to direct the matter to the state CID."

As investigations continue into the brutal attack, the community remains on edge, grappling with the devastating consequences of unchecked violence fueled by cult rivalry. The need for swift and decisive action to restore peace and security in Ogwashi-Uku has never been more urgent.
