Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has charged traditional, religious, and opinion leaders to preach peace and peaceful coexistence among their subjects.

Buni gave the charge on Wednesday in a Sallah message via his spokeswoman, Mamman Mohammed, in Damaturu.

“Let me call on our youth to please celebrate the Sallah peacefully, especially with strict observation of traffic laws.
“The security agencies are to ensure adherence to law and order for a peaceful and successful Sallah celebration”, Gov. Buni directed.

While felicitating with the Muslim Ummah on the occasion of the Eid-el-Kabir Sallah celebration, the governor assured people in the state that his administration would concentrate on more human capital and infrastructural developments to improve the lives of the people.

“We shall, in the new dispensation, promote self-reliance and employment opportunities for the economic growth of our people, especially the youth”, he said.

He also assured an open door policy to allow everyone to participate and contribute to the development of the state irrespective of socio-cultural and political differences.

Buni also prayed to Allah (SWT) to accept the prayers, sacrifices, and supplications of the faithful.
