In the ongoing gubernatorial election in Ekiti State, the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has asked the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to prosecute politicians and anyone implicated in vote-buying and electoral bribery.
On Saturday, SERAP made the request in a message from its Twitter account.
Breaking: #EkitiDecides2022: We're suing to compel INEC to prosecute everyone accused of vote-buying and electoral bribery in Ekiti State, as well as the politicians who sent them," it wrote on Twitter.
Vote-buying has been reported in numerous polling centers in Ekiti's ongoing governorship race, according to Naijacrawl.
Concerned individuals, who are also voters, said some people believed to be working for politicians suddenly arrived at various polling centres on Saturday to offer money to those already in the queue, with the intention of inducing them with cash.
