Lawal Yahaya Gumau’s Political Journey
Gumau stepped into the Senate in 2018 after winning a bye-election, filling the seat left vacant by the late Senator Ali Wakili. He successfully retained his position in the 2019 general elections, serving until 2023.
However, his attempt to secure another term in the 2023 elections did not yield success.
Prior to his time in the Senate, Gumau was a two-term member of the House of Representatives, representing Toro Federal Constituency from 2011 to 2018.
His passing marks the end of a significant political career, leaving behind a legacy of public service.
May his soul rest in peace.
