In a bid to ease the financial strain on Nigerians this festive season, President Bola Tinubu has greenlit complimentary train rides across the country from December 20, 2024, to January 5, 2025.
The announcement, made by Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, highlights the administration’s dedication to supporting citizens during high-cost periods like Christmas and New Year celebrations.
“This year, as in previous years, there will be free train services nationwide for all Nigerians,” Idris revealed during a State House briefing in Abuja. “This initiative aligns with President Tinubu’s commitment to alleviating transportation costs, especially for the most vulnerable in our society.”
The free train ride program has become a staple during festive seasons, offering similar benefits during past Christmas and Sallah holidays. This enduring policy reflects the administration’s ongoing efforts to prioritize the welfare of Nigerians amid escalating travel expenses.
As the holiday season approaches, this thoughtful gesture ensures that Nigerians can celebrate with fewer financial worries, making it easier for families to connect and communities to thrive.
Travel stress-free this festive season and enjoy free train rides—another step towards putting Nigerians first!
