David Ibiyeomie, the presiding pastor of Salvation Ministries, shared a powerful testimony about how giving his entire salary to God in 1997 sparked a series of miraculous events.
The televangelist recounted this experience in a video posted on Instagram on May 28, 2024.
In the video, Ibiyeomie narrated how his wife had asked him for his N5,000 salary to go to the market. However, he felt a divine instruction to offer the money to God instead. Despite the seeming impracticality, he chose to obey.
“My wife told me she wanted to go to the market in 1997, and my salary was N5,000,” Ibiyeomie recalled. “She said to me upstairs, ‘My husband, we have to go to the market’, and I said to her, ‘I am coming’. But I heard God say to me, ‘Give me the N5,000’. That’s madness!”
Highlighting the necessity of faith, he continued, “Nobody will give you money physically. Your wife said she wanted to go to the market, and that day, you earned your salary, with no other money elsewhere. And God said, ‘Give me’? You need faith. You can hear God but without faith, it won’t produce.”
Ibiyeomie then described the miraculous events that followed his act of faith. Within an hour of giving the N5,000 as a sacrifice, an unknown woman brought him N25,000, along with a bag of rice, beans, and a crate of eggs. “In less than one hour, a woman said God spoke to her, that there was a pastor in town, that she should take N25,000, pack a bag of rice, a bag of beans, a crate of eggs, everything in her kitchen, and give to that man of God. She drove down and dropped everything without even meeting me.”
He also shared that the woman’s husband, known to be very frugal, surprisingly gave her N1 million on the same day, after which he secured a job in Abuja. This chain of blessings, Ibiyeomie believes, was initiated by his act of giving his salary to God.
