The city of Ilesa in Osun state today was agog has dignitaries, politicians and media gurus flood the state to honour the late OAP and Yoruba newscaster; Sunday Alakinde who until his untimely death yesterday was a staff of Uniq FM Ilesa.
Alakinde is popularly known throughout Osun state as a result of the popular daily newspaper review that he usually anchor on the station.
The National Publicity Secretary of the freelance broadcaster association of Nigeria got involved in an auto accident early yesterday morning along Ilesa/Iwaraja expressway on his way to the radio station. He died along a siwes student that was with him and another siwes student who is still in coma as at the time of this report.
The remain of Alakinde was moved form Wesley Guild Hospital Ilesa to his residence along Iwara road in Ilesa.
He corpse was dignified with police escorts and sympathizers who followed his remain from the Hospital his residence.
Meanwhile, the state governor of Osun has commiserated with the people of Ilesa and the radio station on the irreparable loss of the gem.
Sunday Alakinde was born in 1975 in Gbongan in Osun State and he was survived by age parents, wife and little children.
