The late Kogi State Governor Prince Abubakar Audu's son, Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu, has disapproved of the results of the Kogi State All Progressives Congress, APC, primary that produced Usman Ododo as the party's nominee for the November 11 governorship election.

The young Audu, who ran in the Kogi State APC primary held last Friday, described the election as a highly rigged and dishonest process marked by unheard-of irregularities.

The Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu campaign organization released a statement on Monday in Lokoja that was signed by David Idoko, a spokesman for the group. In the statement, he claimed that the magnitude of absurdities and violations that dominated the primary election process were incurable and called for its cancellation.

According to the statement, most ward centers were unable to hold the primary election on Friday, April 14, 2023 because there were insufficient officials and materials.

The campaign organization added that the results were not announced from a polling place, but rather from a secret location where the results were fictitiously and frivolously created and distributed.

He described the process as one of the greatest electoral frauds in Nigeria’s political history.

According to the statement, aspirants and party members who waited in vain to cast their votes discovered that results were announced and votes allocated fraudulently.

The campaign does, however, call on President Muhammadu Buhari, the President-Elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the National Chairman of the party, Sen. Abdullahi Adamu, to intervene.

“We are determined to ensure that justice is done." This we shall pursue to logical conclusion through the Primary Election Appeal Committee, and we shall not hesitate eventually, if need be, to challenge the process in a court of law, as it is an established fact that when and if a party violates its own rules, its actions become null,” the statement added.
