This decision came just days after a sound engineer named David was allegedly killed in Lekki by a mob of motorcyclists over a N100 balance.

In six local government districts across Lagos, the state government has imposed a total ban on motorcyclists, sometimes known as' Okada riders. '

The prohibition was announced by the state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, today at the Lagos House in Ikeja while dealing with all Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) and Area Commanders from around the state.

Mr. Sanwo-Olu added that the "complete" prohibition will prevent motorcyclists from operating in the state's Ikeja, Surulere, Eti Osa, Lagos Mainland, Lagos Island, and Apapa local government areas.

"This order will go into effect on June 1st. "This is a phase ban we are going to be embarking on so that others know that they either get out or find something else to do," he noted.

This decision came just days after a sound engineer named David was allegedly killed in Lekki by a mob of motorcyclists over a N100 balance.

When a dispute erupted between the biker and David's driver, the motorcyclist was reported to have driven the two to their destination.

The argument was said to have degenerated into a fight, as the motorcyclist sought the support of other motorcyclists, who intervened in the matter.

However, David was later killed by the mob, who also burned his corpse.
