The Nigeria Army has unveiled the first made-in-Nigeria AK-47 which has been codenamed OBJ006 by the Army, in Kaduna.

The weapon is being produced in mass by Dicon and with same capability as an AK47. Dicon is also producing NR-1 rifle and a Marom Dolphin bullet proof vest. They increased the production plant last year.

It is instructive to note that the first AK-47 was produced in 1947.
