In a significant proclamation, the Oba of Benin, Omo N’ Oba N’ Edo, Uku Akpolokpolo, Ewuare II, asserted on Sunday that the presidency of Nigeria is divinely ordained for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
During a courtesy visit to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu at the Lagos House, Marina, the revered monarch urged all Nigerians to rally behind Tinubu and support his administration for the realization of a greater Nigeria.
Oba N'Edo Uku Akpolokpolo Ewuare II emphasized the importance of peaceful coexistence for sustainable development in all aspects of the nation's economy. During the visit, he stressed the positive impact of diversity on Nigeria and called on the people to reconcile their differences, fostering a united and harmonious national family.
"God has ordained that Tinubu would become President of Nigeria. We are all one. I am for peace and tranquility. We must live together as one. Nigeria is big. We must iron out our differences and learn to live together as one, big family," the Oba of Benin remarked.
The monarch also extended congratulations to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on his reelection and commended the Governor's remarkable achievements in Lagos. He encouraged Governor Sanwo-Olu to continue striving for greater heights in his second term, emphasizing the importance of promoting culture and tradition.
Following the courtesy visit, the Oba of Benin visited the J. Randle Centre for Yoruba Culture and History alongside Governor Sanwo-Olu, Deputy Governor Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, and other cabinet members. Governor Sanwo-Olu, in response, assured that Lagos State would remain a home for everyone, regardless of their ethnic, religious, or political affiliations.
Governor Sanwo-Olu praised the Oba of Benin for his distinguished role among traditional rulers, highlighting the monarch's commitment to preserving culture and promoting traditional values, which has earned him widespread respect across the country.
