The Osun State government declared three days of mourning across the state on Monday as a show of solidarity and condolences with the people of Ondo State following last weekend's terror assault that killed and injured many churchgoers.

According to a statement issued by Funke Egbemode, the state's Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, the three days of mourning will take place from Monday, June 13 to Wednesday, June 15.

According to the statement, all flags will be flown at half-mast throughout the state throughout the mourning period, and citizens are expected to conduct their affairs in sobriety in honor of the innocent souls who were killed in the incident.

The Osun State government expressed its condolences to the victims and their families of the Sunday, June 5, 2022 attack at Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Owo, Ondo State, and hoped for a speedy recovery for the injured, who are currently receiving medical treatment.

On Sunday, June 12, 2022, Naijacrawl reported that Osun State Governor Adegboyega Oyetola visited his Ondo State counterpart, Rotimi Akeredolu, for a condolence visit in Akure.

Oyetola vowed to cooperate with other South-West governors to develop the southwest security network and Amotekun corps during his visit.
