Teslim Folarin, an All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for governor of Oyo State, has responded to a video of him making specific political remarks.

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governor Seyi Makinde won the March 18 election for governor, defeating the senator representing Oyo Central.

Folarin denied holding the president-elect Bola Tinubu and other leaders responsible for the APC's loss in a statement on Twitter.

Due to his close relationship with the former governor of Lagos and co-founder of the party, the lawmaker claimed it was a scheme to clog the wheel.

“My attention has been drawn to a trending 2:04-minute video blaming Mr. President-elect and other APC chieftains for the outcome of the governorship and house of assembly elections.
“It was produced by my sworn enemies with the sole intention to drive wedges in my relationships with our highly revered leader Asiwaju and other party stakeholders,” he tweeted.
Folarin advised the public to ignore the tape, reiterating his post-election comment: “It is only God that gives and takes power.”

The politician conceded defeat on Monday, congratulating Makinde, who secured 563,756 votes against the 256,685 votes he polled.
