On Friday, the Oyo State Police paraded a 45-year-old suspected ritualist named Hassan Kolawole, who was apprehended in Ibadan with a recently severed human head.
The state Commissioner of Police, Adebola Hamzat, presented Kolawole and nine other individuals arrested for various offenses across different locations within the state at the command headquarters in Eleyele.
Addressing the media, the suspect admitted to the crime, revealing that he acquired the fresh human head and two hands, discovered in his possession, from a Muslim cleric. Kolawole explained, "I have one wife and two children, and things are very hard for me in taking good care of them. I met one Waheed, who is also an Islamic cleric at a Maolud. We discussed it, and he told me that he knew how to perform money rituals that would require the use of human parts."
He continued, "I told him that I don’t know how to get the human parts, and he promised to get them for me. He later brought the human parts to me at Amuloko where we met early in the morning. I kept it in my office where I often attended to people who needed spiritual assistance."
Kolawole claimed that the police searched his office on the day Waheed delivered the fresh head and two hands, but Waheed is currently evading arrest.
Simultaneously, the police paraded nine other suspects arrested from various locations in the state for crimes including murder, kidnapping, cultism, and theft.
