The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) police command has apprehended Sunday Musa, also known as Dan Gwari, a Point of Sale (PoS) operator accused of supplying sex workers to bandits and distributing money to their families in Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
FCT Commissioner of Police, Benneth Igweh, disclosed Musa’s arrest during a press briefing in Abuja. Musa was captured during a coordinated operation by the anti-kidnap unit at Kagarko. He is alleged to be the chief informant and logistics supplier for bandit groups under the command of a fugitive known as Ardo.
Musa confessed to facilitating the movement of nurses, hard drugs, and sex workers for the bandits upon request. "The suspect has also confessed to being a financial courier through which money is distributed or shared to the bandits’ families. He confessed to have so far distributed over N20 million on behalf of the bandits," said CP Igweh.
The commissioner also revealed that the bandit group led by Ardo consists of over 15 members, all armed with AK-47 rifles. In addition to Musa, the police arrested Ruqquaya Ibrahim, a 41-year-old housewife, for allegedly supplying foodstuff and other logistics to the bandits.
