The Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission has announced that the Rivers State LGA elections will be held on Saturday, 5th October 2024.



This follows the expire of the tenure of the former elected council chairmen last month.

It will be recalled that some pro-Wike ally were protesting against the forceful eviction of them from the secretariat last month.

The State Governor, Sim Fubara has appointed another set of people as the caretaker chairmen for all the local government areas in the state.
