The prison officer was said to have failed to present himself during a roadblock by evading the soldiers, and the soldiers put-call across the officers in the next checkpoint.

The demise prison officer also refused and the driver that was driving the car was said to have decided to outrun the soldier checkpoint when the soldier started firing at them.

The officer died immediately while the driver is still in a coma at the time of this report.

The incident happened yesterday, February 1 along Gonigora's way to Abuja. The car involved was a Toyota venza.
