President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has signed the North West Development Commission Bill into law to address the challenges in Nigeria's North West region.

This development was announced by the Deputy President of the Senate, Barau Jibrin, who spoke to the press at the National Assembly Complex in Abuja on Tuesday night. Senator Barau, the bill's sponsor, expressed his gratitude to the President for acknowledging the difficulties faced by the North West zone and for taking action to support its development.

The region has been severely affected by the activities of bandits, Boko Haram insurgents, and other criminal elements, leading to widespread destruction of infrastructure. Senator Barau highlighted the importance of the new commission in addressing these issues and aiding the zone's development.

“Mr President has signed the North West Development Commission Bill into law. It is a body that is going to assist the development of the zone," Barau stated. “Today is the happiest day of our lives. We have been praying that this commission be established. Now is the time to enhance the wellbeing and development of the North West zone.”

He praised President Tinubu's commitment to national development, urging Nigerians to be patient and supportive of the President's efforts. “This means that the President has the political will to develop this country. I call on Nigerians to be patient with the President. He has done well for us and we appreciate what he has done. This means that he is a leader to trust,” Barau added.
