In a somber incident that unfolded at the Amaokpala village along the Umunze-Ekwulobia Road in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State, a yet-to-be-identified person lost their life in a motor accident on Wednesday at 10:45 hours.

The collision involved three unidentified drivers – one operating a commercial Mercedes Benz tipper with the registration number XA554AGU, another maneuvering a commercial Mack trailer with the registration number AKL876XP, and the third riding a commercial motorcycle without a registration number.

According to gathered information, the likely cause of the tragic crash was attributed to a brake failure. The aftermath of the accident left four male adults involved, with one fatality, identified as the motorcycle rider, while the other three individuals were rescued without injuries.

Margaret Onabe, the acting Sector Public Education Officer, confirmed the incident and explained, "The probable cause of the fatal crash was as a result of brake failure. According to an eyewitness report, the trailer failed brake and rammed into the tipper and motorcycle and crashed."

The deceased victim was swiftly transported to Ajalli General Hospital by the Federal Road Safety Corps rescue team from RS5.37 Umunze Unit Command. On the scene, the rescue team members worked diligently to manage traffic and clear the obstruction caused by the crash.

Expressing condolences, Corps Commander Adeoye Irelewuyi, the Sector Commander for Anambra State, sympathized with the family of the deceased victim. The unfortunate incident underscores the critical importance of road safety measures and the ongoing need for vigilance to prevent such tragedies on our roads.
